WHO AM I? |

I am a 16 year veteran of the middle and high school classroom. I have recently moved back to Comfort after living in Chattanooga, TN for 15 years. I have been a state ranked forensics coach in TX and in TN. I consider every day a journey of our spirits and intellects. My hope is to enliven, enlighten, and enlarge your child's experiences here at CMS!! | |

For 6th Grade ELA |
The goals for our classroom include practicing the basics of good grammar and improving our skills as writers through editing and writing using several forms. Our last goal is to learn to interact as effective members of a community of learners. |

For 7th Grade ELA |

The goals for our classroom include identifying each student's weaknesses and correcting those weaknesses through practice, practice, and more practice. Narrative writing will be emphasized throughout the year. Diagnostic benchmark exams will be given every 6 weeks. | |

Daily/Weekly Routine |
For the 6th graders: Everyday there is an activity that will involve the first 10 to 15 minutes of class. This activity will usually involve reinforcing grammar, punctuation, or spelling rules. The rest of the class period will be spent working toward success in the current unit of study. Every Monday, a lesson will be assigned from the Spelling Power Workbook, and it will be due on Tuesday of that week. A spelling challenge will occur every 2 weeks unless there is a calendar change from the district.
For the 7th graders: Everyday there will be an activity that begins the class period. This activity could be a spontaneous writing assignment or daily oral language work.
All of my students: Wednesday is the day to go to the computer lab! |
