Classroom Discipline Plan
Discipline Plan
Dear Parents,

In order to provide the students with the excellent educational climate they deserve, a Classroom Discipline Plan has been developed to help ensure a successful school year. It includes both rights and responsibilities for a positive learning environment. This plan has been provided to be read by both students and parents.

EXPECTATIONS

1. I have the right to a quiet, distraction-free environment.
I have the responsibility to control my talking and to not distract others.

2. I have the right to a safe environment.
I have the responsibility to keep my hands, feet, etc. to myself.

3. I have the right to receive directions.
I have the responsibility to listen carefully and follow directions the first time
they are given.

4. I have the right to be successful.
I have the responsibility to be prepared with my work and materials needed
for class.

5. I have the right to have myself and my property respected.
I have the responsibility to respect myself, others, and their property.

It is in the best interest of your child that we work together in all aspects of his or her education. Please review the Classroom Discipline Plan with your child, sign, and return the attached form.

Discipline Plan for Mr. Miller's Fourth Grade Class, Room D72

Classroom Rules

1. Enter and leave the room quietly.
2. Be courteous and respectful to yourself, other students, and the teacher.
3. Behave in a manner which will allow you and others to learn.
4. Follow instructions promptly and work independently.
5. Avoid disturbing others during work time.
6. Keep your hands, arms, and feet to yourself.
7. Follow all school rules and classroom procedures.

If You Choose to Break a Rule:

First, Second, Third Time: Lose one "Good Behavior" ticket each.
Fourth Time: Name on board. Warning.
Fifth Time: One check. Write offense in folder to
report to parents. No recess.
Sixth Time: Two checks. Write offense in folder.
Separation from group. Work completed
individually.
Seventh Time: Three checks. Parents contacted.
Eight Time: Four checks. Visit principal.

Severe disruption: Student sent immediately to the office.



Rewards for Good Behavior

Praise (daily)
Directed activity time at end of week for students who demonstrate "Good Behavior."
Positive notes home (random)
Various other positive rewards throughout the school year

Please remind your child to complete homework each day, and encourage your child to practice their multiplication facts every night.
