Welcome to 8th Grade Language Arts!
We are in full swing at CMS!!! My name is Rachel Schmidt and I am your child’s 8th grade Language Arts/English teacher. I'm really excited to be working with and getting to know your child this year.
This is my first year at Comfort Middle School, but my eighth year as a classroom teacher. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a minor in English, from Texas A&M University in 1998. My husband also graduated from Texas A&M and received his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business. WHOOP! Gig ‘em, Ags!
I have lived in Comfort for almost 6 years, since getting married. I have been blessed with 2 wonderful children. My son just celebrated his 3rd birthday and my daughter turned 1 year old in May. I grew up on a ranch in Southwest Texas, and I still enjoy riding my horses and being outdoors. I love to play with my kids, read, play tennis, workout, and play with my dogs.

Clear communication among the students, teacher, and parent is extremely important for the student to be successful. If your child is having difficulty with anything in my class, with advance notice I can schedule time to work with them. If you need to visit with me about your child I have conference daily from 2:45- 3:30. Please contact me by calling the middle school at (830) 995-6420, or you may e-mail me anytime.
