I began my teaching career in the "barrios" of Lubbock,Texas as a Title 1 reading teacher. The Title I program was changed  from group pull-out reading intervention to certified teachers running computer labs for reading intervention. I chose to go to the self-contained classroom to teach. I taught 2nd grade,1st grade,and 3rd grade in that order, prior to moving to Comfort. I began my teaching career here with 2nd graders. That first class has graduated.  My son was a part of that class which helps me keep up with them. I am happy to say that several of those students are attending colleges and universities. Many members of the class of 2006 are now in today's workforce.
